I have recently become highly aware of the fact that I so rarely use drugstore products in my videos. I'm guilty of indulging in high end products more often than heading around the drugstore to take a look at the products that are available.
I was recently going through my collection and realised that I do have a couple of inexpensive staple products that I do really enjoy, so I wanted to do a tutorial for you all using some products that are a little more cost effective than the usual cake I show you!
This is the look I came up with:
Some of the products I used in this tutorial are actually quite standout products, that truly do hold their own compared to their department store counterparts.
The Maybelline master precise liquid liner pen is almost exactly the same as the Stila liquid liner and almost half the price! I've found it doesn't dry up easily and provides a beautiful crisp liquid line everytime! Liner in a pen form is by far my favourite, as it's the easiest for me to use.
Then there's the Maybelline colour sensational lipstick 'the nudes' in tantalising taupe. It's almost an exact dupe to MAC pure zen, which is my favourite lipstick of the moment. I find MAC lipsticks quite drying, and while the Maybelline formula isn't 'moisturising' it doesn't dry my lips out quite so much. I do however find the colour wears off faster than its MAC counterpart, but still a fantastic budget friendly version.
The Revlon colourstay whipped foundation is one of the only drugstore foundations that makes its way into my regular rotation. The coverage can be built from medium to full and I feel that for a full coverage foundation it looks quite natural on the skin. The finish is a happy medium between matte and dewy and gives a nice glow to the skin.
Very similarly the Maybelline dream bouncy blush is also something I love and use on a regular basis. They provide a great sheer wash of colour that is foolproof and easy to use.
Feel free to check out the tutorial below to see these products in action!
Hope you guys like it!
